Between Breaths
Some paintings quietly declare themselves finished, and this one was among them. With a knife, I layered muted greens and shifting light on treated masonite, initially thinking only to create a background. Over time, the surface revealed its own presence—a stillness suspended between one breath and the next, fragile yet insistent.
It is not a landscape to visit but a space to inhabit in thought: a pause, a reflection, a memory lingering in the subtle dialogue of light, colour, and texture.
